Oberstarzt "Colonel Doctor" Ehlers, Arzt being the German word for doctor. Yes indeed the Fallschimjager much like all other combat units had their own doctors and medics. Here we see Dr. Ehlers, (actual photo unavailble) I imagined a a grey haired man, hence the use of the Patton head skulpt. Ehlers was in command of entire medical battalion of the 1FJD the battalion was made up as follows, No 1 Company Medical, No 2 Company Medical, No 3 Company Medical ( Light ), 1 Field Hospitol. The battalion was made up of approxamitly 800 men when at full strength.
It was not uncommon for Oberstarzt to take command of combat units and several where even awarded the Knights Cross, like Oberstarzt Neuman & Oberstarzt Lamgemeyer. This is a testiment to the bravery and sacrifice of all medical personnel of all armies throught the ages.
